For 20 years, Karen has been a successful Wealth Management leader, providing personalized investment advice to clients. After graduating from Brown University with degrees in Business, Entrepreneurship and Psychology, Karen began her finance career providing tailored investment advice for Smith Barney. After nearly a decade with the company, Karen went off on her own and launched Universal Wealth Management, LLC.. Karen successfully provides personal, family, business, estate, healthcare and career financial advice and management to more than 500 households and manages in excess of $250 million in assets. Additionally, Karen is a registered representative with Royal Alliance Associates, Inc., a prominent independent, full service broker-dealer.

Karen has a proven track record for providing sound financial guidance to her clients through many major life transitions in areas including Social Security, understanding the complexities of all aspects of Medicare (Individuals and Businesses), Prescription Drug Coverage and Individual and Group Health Care Plans.  She recently authored “Medicare Untangled.” The book, which will be published in the spring 2019, simplifies the complex world of Social Security and Medicare.

Karen’s accomplishments have not gone unnoticed. In 2017, she was honored as one of the top businesswomen in Rhode Island by Providence Business News. Her drive as a businesswoman stems from her competitive nature as a former standout athlete. A rare two-sport student-athlete at Boston College and Brown University, Karen excelled in both women’s hockey and softball. As a senior at Brown, Karen had the unique distinction of winning both ECAC and Ivy League titles in hockey (22-0-0 ECAC and 10-0-0 in Ivy)  and capturing the Ivy League Softball Championship. She also was a member of the United States Olympic Hockey Development Program.

She currently coaches both youth hockey and baseball and formerly served as the head hockey coach of her alma mater, St. Mary Academy Bay View. Under Karen’s direction, BV won three state championships and was the state runner-ups four times. Karen had been honored as the R.I. Schoolgirl Coach of the Year and has been inducted in Bay View’s Athletic Hall of Fame. The RI Interscholastic League honored Karen’s accomplishments by naming the top hockey division - The Emma Division. Karen resides in Cranston, RI with her son Edward L. Walsh III

A veteran executive with nearly 30 years of experience, Stephen is well versed and accomplished in all aspects of the financial services industry.

Additionally, Stephen is a registered representative with Royal Alliance Associates, Inc., a prominent independent, full service broker-dealer.

Stephen has a proven track record for providing sound financial guidance to his members. Prior to joining Universal Wealth Management/Greenwood Credit Union/ GCU Wealth Advisors, Stephen served as a Senior Investment Advisory/Senior Vice President at Santander. Stephen’s primary responsibilities included managing financial portfolios, analyzing existing financial and retirement planning and providing recommendations including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, life insurance, annuities, long term care and more.

While at Santander. Stephen served on the Executive Council to assist in the development of new products and was elected to serve on the President’s Council in an effort to improve programs and elevate the company. Stephen has also recruited, trained and developed numerous associate financial consultants throughout his many years in the financial industry.

A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Stephen resides in Cranston, RI.

An Independent Consultant and Financial Advisor within Universal Wealth Management, Robbie Mann has been a longtime partner of the company’s President and Founder Karen Emma.

Robbie Mann is a registered representative with Royal Alliance Associates, Inc.  

For more than 35 years, Robbie has served as stockbroker and has provided personalized advice to his investors. After gaining extensive experience working with two major national brokerage firms, Drexel Burnham Lambert and Smith Barney at the start of his career, in 2006 Robbie went on to open Empire Financial Management in partnership with Universal Wealth Management. He guides his clients toward making well-informed financial decisions that suit their individual needs and goals.

A native of Providence and graduate of Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor of Science in accounting, Robbie worked at Price Waterhouse and Hasbro, Inc. before entering the financial services industry.

Robbie sits on the Board of Trustees of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee in New York. He also offers extensive involvement in his community. As chair of the Budget and Finance Committee and member of the Board of Overseers at Moses Brown School, Robbie offers his professional advice to help the school reach its financial goals. Robbie is also a past President of the Jewish Federation of R.I.

Robbie lives in Providence with his wife, Judy and two sons, Max and Zack.

Cindy Bailey

An Administrative Assistant of Universal Wealth Management, LLC, Cindy has more than 25 years of experience working in the finance industry. Prior to joining Universal Wealth Management, LLC in 2015, Cindy served as the controller for Insignia Real Estate Companies, LLC.. Her responsibilities included property management, accounting and bookkeeping.

At UWM, Cindy’s responsibilities include customer service, handling account opening, deposits, checks, wire transfers, IRA distributions, journal transfers, online web access, general account questions and correspondence, bookkeeping, accounting, office/property management and more

Cindy is a graduate of the Community College of Rhode Island where she received her Associates Degree in Accounting. She resides in West Warwick, RI with her husband, Gene. Her hobbies include mystery shopping and gardening.

Kaitlyn Miller

Director of Healthcare



Kaitlyn has been an integral part of the Universal Wealth Management Team in various capacities for nearly a dozen years. A graduate of Bryant University where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a dual concentration in Management and Entrepreneurship, Kaitlyn’s primary focus is Universal Wealth Management’s healthcare division. As the director of UWM’s growing healthcare division, Kaitlyn oversees all of UWM’s agents and their clients. Kaitlyn directly works with healthcare clients focusing on Social Security benefits, Medicare and Medicaid Planning, Individual Life and Health Insurance Planning, as well as Small and Large Group Business Insurance Planning. Additionally, she coordinates and executes all of UWM’s healthcare events, including Social Security, Medicare and the “Medicare Untangled” series. In 2018, Kaitlyn produced more than 65 events during the Medicare Open Enrollment Period. On UWM’s financial side, Kaitlyn serves as a direct assistant to President and CEO Karen Emma. Kaitlyn is currently pursuing her Series 7 and Series 66. She will complete both her Series 7 and 66 in 2019.

Kaitlyn resides in Cranston, RI with her fiancé and daughters, Analeiah and Aurora.  


Kim Capuano

A veteran executive with 40 years of experience in healthcare, Kim is well versed and accomplished in all aspects of the health insurance industry.

Kim is a prominent leader in the healthcare field and has a proven track record for providing sound guidance to her clients. Kim’s experience and knowledge is diverse. Her wide range of expertise includes private health insurance, the health insurance exchange, Medicare Plans, Medicaid Programs and the State of RI Social Service Programs.

As a member of the Universal Wealth Management team, Kim’s focus is to assist individual and business owners with all aspects of health insurance needs and analysis, including Social Security and Medicare benefits and Medicaid planning and group business insurance planning. Additionally, she coordinates and executes dozens of UWM healthcare events, including Social security and Medicare.

Kim has worked in various areas of the healthcare industry during her career that spans nearly four decades. Among the many areas she has had comprehensive involvement in is her expertise in working with Alzheimer's and Dementia patients and their caregivers.

In her role with Alzheimer’s Association of RI, she provided healthcare guidance and support to those suffering Alzheimer's and Dementia families and caregivers. Her personal approach provided relief to families and caregivers as she successfully directed them to meet their health insurance and social service needs. She has a wealth of knowledge relating to support programs relating to Alzheimer’s and Dementia. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, an estimated 5.8 million Americans are suffering from Alzheimer’s. By 2050, this number is projected to rise to nearly 14 million. This disease results in more fatalities than Breast Cancer and Prostate Cancer combine.

In addition to her primary role as UWM Insurance Specialist, Kim serves as the Administrative Assistant to the UWM President and CEO, Karen Emma.

Kim resides in West Greenwich, R.I. with her husband.

Phil Wong serves as our First Line Supervisor at Royal Alliance Associates, Inc. and Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction (SEC). Phil has served in the financial service industry since 1991. The founder and Managing Director of Boston Wealth Management, LLC, the company’s philosophy is to listen, understand and advise one individual at a time in order to lead clients to their defined goals.

As the Managing Director, Phil also utilizes his experience and investment knowledge assisting other advisors with business and professional development.

Phil’s dedication to excellence allows both clients and advisors to be served at a personalized level demanded by each.

Phil resides in Weston, MA with his wife Angie, daughter Ally and son Preston.
